  37.  Using this option you can specify the
  38.  file(s) you wish to ADD to the

  40.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  41.  cards are allowed for filenames and
  42.  extensions.

  45.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  46.  the compressed by displaying a list of
  47.  files in a window.  After the window is
  48.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by
  49.  pressing the space bar.  After all files
  50.  have been tagged press the ENTER key to
  51.  process the tagged files.
  52.  
  53. *altc  !!add/update comments!!
  54.  This option will allow you to add or
  55.  update the compressed file comments.
  56.  
  57. *altd  !!delete all extracted!!
  58.  This option will delete all files that
  59.  are contained in the compressed file
  60.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  61.  one specified via the ALT-P command.
  62.  
  63. *alte  !!extract list!!
  64.  This option allow you to specify which
  65.  files to extract from the compressed
  66.  file. You may specify more the one
  67.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  68.  cards are allowed.
  69.  
  70. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  71.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  72.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  73.  of files in a window.  After the window
  74.  is displayed you tag the files to
  75.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  76.  After all files have been tagged press
  77.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  78.  files.
  79.  
  80. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  81.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  82.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  83.  of files in a window.  After the window
  84.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  85.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  86.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  87.  key to process the tagged files.
  88.  
  89. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  90.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  91.  files from the compressed file into the
  92.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  93.  via the ALT-P command.
  94.  
  95. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  96.  This options allows you to specify a
  97.  disk and directory of where any
  98.  extracted files will be placed.  Specify
  99.  the extract path as follows:
  100.  DISK:\DIRECTORY Pressing any key other
  101.  than the ENTER key will clear the
  102.  extract path. To display a directory
  103.  window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  104.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the
  105.  enter key.
  106.  
  107. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  108.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  109.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  110.  the window pops up enter the first
  111.  character of the file you wish to find.
  112.  The display will be repositioned to the
  113.  first file in the list that starts with
  114.  that letter. (NOTE since files are
  115.  stored in random order sort the list
  116.  first)
  117.  
  118. *altu    !!update-from-list!!
  119.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  120.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  121.  of files in a window.  After the window
  122.  is displayed you tag the files to
  123.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.
  124.  After all files have been tagged press
  125.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  126.  files.
  127.  
  128. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  129.  This option will display the master
  130.  comment record and the file comment
  131.  records for the selected compressed
  132.  file.
  133.  
  134. *altx  !!extract all!!
  135.  This option will extract ALL files from
  136.  the compressed file into the current
  137.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  138.  the ALT-P command.
  139.  
  140. *altz  !!virus check!!
  141.  This option will check ALL .COM ,.EXE, .OVL
  142.  files to see if they have been infected with
  143.  a virus.  You must have the virus checking
  144.  program from McAfee Assoc. call SCAN.EXE
  145.  version 39 or greater, and have used the
  146.  configuration program to tell SHEZ where
  147.  to find SCAN.EXE
  148.  
  149. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  150.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  151.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  152.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  153.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  154.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  155.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  156.  compressed file contents screen.
  157.  
  158. *c  !!create-new!!
  159.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  160.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  161.  to enter the
  162.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  163.  compressed file to create, whether you
  164.  want to add or move files into the new
  165.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  166.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  167.  new compressed file.
  168.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  169.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  170.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  171.  PAK files!!!!!
  172.  
  173.  You will also be asked if you want to
  174.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  175.  the entered file spec as is.
  176.  
  177.  If the compression program you choose
  178.  supports saving path information you will
  179.  also be asked if you want to save
  180.  directory information, and if you want to
  181.  recurse the directory tree.

  184. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  185.  This option will delete all tagged files
  186.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  187.  asked to verify the delete before the
  188.  files are actually deleted from the
  189.  compressed file.

  192.  This option will extract all tagged
  193.  files from the compressed file.

  195. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  196.  This option will activate the alternate
  197.  file viewer if one has been set via the
  198.  SHEZEV environment variable.  PLEASE SEE
  199.  THE USER MANUAL FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON
  200.  SETTING UP AN ALTERNATE VIEWER.

  202. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  203.  This option will set the compressed
  204.  file's time and date to the time and
  205.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  206.  the compressed file.

  208. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  209.  This option will untag all currently
  210.  tagged files.
  211.  
  212. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  213.  This option will tag all files in the
  214.  currently displayed window.
  215.  
  216. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  217.  This option will convert a self
  218.  extracting file back to its native
  219.  compressed file format. The self
  220.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  221.  The normal compressed file will be
  222.  built on the same drive and directory
  223.  where self extracting file is found.
  224.  
  225. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  226.  This option allows you to copy all
  227.  tagged files from the current compressed
  228.  file into another compressed file.  The
  229.  target compressed file may be any
  230.  currently supported format.
  231.  
  232. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  233.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  234.  drop you off into disk and directory
  235.  that is specified as the extract
  236.  location.
  237.  
  238. *d  !!delete one file!!
  239.  This option will delete the currently
  240.  highlighted file from the compressed
  241.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  242.  delete before the delete is actually
  243.  done.
  244.  
  245. *e  !!extract one file!!
  246.  This option will extract the currently
  247.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  248.  drive and directory, or the
  249.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  250.  the ALT-P command.

  252. *f      !!freshen!!
  253.  Using this option you can specify the
  254.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  255.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  256.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  257.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  258.  extensions.

  260. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  261.  This option will temporarily exit to
  262.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  263.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  264.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  265.  the return key.

  267. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  268.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  269.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  270.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  271.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  272.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  273.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  274.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  275.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.

  277.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  278.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  279.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  280.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  281.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  282.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.

  284. *f8  !!edit!!
  285.  This option will allow you to edit a
  286.  file in the compressed file.  This
  287.  option will only work if you specified
  288.  an editor to use when you configured
  289.  compressedPER.

  291. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  292.  Using this option you can specify how
  293.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  294.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  295.  Extension, or Date.
  296.  
  297. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  298.  These options allow you to set the
  299.  compression factor that will be used by
  300.  the ZIP program.  You may choose a
  301.  factor for ASCII files and one for
  302.  BINARY files.  If you are using version
  303.  .92 or greater of PKZIP you may choose
  304.  one of the Maximize options listed
  305.  instead of choosing the ASCII or BINARY
  306.  compression factor options.

  359.  This option allows you to specify the password
  360.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  361.  compression program does not support passwords
  362.  an error window will appear informing you that
  363.  the option is not supported.

  366.  This option will show information about
  367.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  368.  files in file, total size of all files,
  369.  time and date of compressed file, etc.

  444.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  445.  extract a file from the compressed file.

  448.  This option allows you to specify if you
  449.  want to save and/or use path information
  450.  when working with compressed files.
  451.  
  452. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  453.  This option will immediately exit
  454.  SHEZ.
  455.  
  456. *r  !!run a file!!
  457.  This option will extract and run the
  458.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  459.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  460.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  461.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  462.  deleted.
  463.  
  464. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  465.  This option allows you to add and or
  466.  update the comment records associated
  467.  with the currently highlighted file.
  468.  
  469. *sft-s  !!add/update file comments!!
  470.  This option allows you to add and or
  471.  update the comment records assocaited
  472.  with each file in the compressed file.
  473.  
  474. *t  !!test compressed!!
  475.  This option will test the integrity of
  476.  the compressed file.
  477.  
  478. *u       !!update!!
  479.  Using this option you can specify the
  480.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  481.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  482.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  483.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  484.  extensions.
  485.  
  486. *v  !!view!!
  487.  This option will allow you to view the
  488.  contents of a file in the compressed
  489.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  490.  to view the file.
  491.  
  492. *z  !!mask!!
  493.  This option allows you to specify a file
  494.  mask to be used when displaying the
  495.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  496.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  497.  only the files having an extension of C
  498.  will be displayed on the screen.
  499.  
  500. *malte !!edit highlighted file!!
  501.  This option will invoke the editor that
  502.  you specified when you configured SHEZ.
  503.  The highlighted file will be passed to
  504.  the editor.
  505.  
  506. *mcf4 !!delete tagged files!!
  507.  This option will delete all files that
  508.  have been tagged in the file window.
  509.  After all the files are deleted the file
  510.  window will be refreshed.

  512. *mf3  !!view file!!
  513.  This option allows you to view the
  514.  highlighted file.
  515.  
  516. *mf4  !!delete file!!
  517.  This option allows you to delete the
  518.  highlighted file.  You will be prompted
  519.  to verify the delete.

  522.  This option will display the highlighted
  523.  file's time,date,and size.

  525. *mf9  !!file sort!!
  526.  This option will sort the file list by
  527.  File name, File extension, or File date,
  528.  depending on how you reply to the sort
  529.  prompt. Enter a N, E, or D.

  531. *mf8  !!make sfx files!!
  532.  F8 will make a self extracting file from
  533.  the highlighted file.
  534.  SHIFT-F8 will make self extracting files
  535.  from all tagged files.
  536.  (ONLY ZIP,LZH,PAK, and SDN files are
  537.  currently supported)

  539. *malt-c  !!add/update file comments!!
  540.  This option allows you to add and or update
  541.  file comment records in all tagged
  542.  compressed files. You will be prompted for a
  543.  data file that contains the comment
  544.  record(s) you wish to add.

  546. *malt-d  !!show file dates!!
  547.  This option will display the file dates
  548.  in the file list window.  Pressing the
  549.  ALT-S key will change the display to show
  550.  the file sizes.

  552. *malt-s  !!show file sizes!!
  553.  This option will display the file sizes
  554.  in the file list window.  Pressing the
  555.  ALT-D key will change the display to show
  556.  the file dates.

  558. *malt-v  !!convert one file!!
  559.  This option will convert the highlighted
  560.  archive file from one format archive to
  561.  another format archive. You will be
  562.  asked if you want to delete the original
  563.  archive file after the conversion is
  564.  complete.

  566. *mctl-v  !!convert tagged!!
  567.  This option will convert all tagged
  568.  archive file(s) from one format archive
  569.  to another format archive. You will be
  570.  asked if you want to delete the original
  571.  archive file(s) after the conversion is
  572.  complete.

  574. *malt-r  !!reread directory!!
  575.  This option will reread the current
  576.  directory and refresh the displayed file
  577.  list.
  578.  
  579. *malt-w  !!write cfg file!!
  580.  This option will write the current SHEZ
  581.  configuration options out to a file
  582.  named SHEZ.CFG.  The file will be written
  583.  to the current disk:\directory.  This file
  584.  will be used by the SHEZCFG program to set
  585.  the default SHEZ program options when you
  586.  configure SHEZ.
  587.  
  588. *malt-z  !!virus check!!
  589.  This option will check ALL .COM ,.EXE, .OVL
  590.  files in all tagged compressed files,
  591.  to see if they have been infected with

  603.  This option allows you to copy the
  604.  highlighted file. You will be prompted

  607.  extension in the TO: field.

  610.  This option allows you to move the
  611.  highlighted file. You will be prompted
  612.  to enter file destination information.
  613.  The highlighted file will be copied to
  614.  the entered destination and then deleted
  615.  from the current location.

  618.  This option allows you to rename the
  619.  highlighted file. You will be prompted
  620.  to enter new filename information.
  621.  You must at least enter a filename and
  622.  extension in the TO: field.

  624. *msfx !!copy,move,delete,rename tagged files!!
  625.  This option will copy,move,delete, or
  626.  rename all files that have been tagged in
  627.  the file window. After all the files are
  628.  operated on, the file window will be
  629.  refreshed.

  632.  This option will print the currently
  633.  highlighted file.  If you are working
  634.  with an ARC,ZOO,LZH or PAK file output
  635.  will always go to the DOS PRN device.

  637. *nomatch  !!no matching file found!!
  638.  No matching files where found in the directory that is displayed
  639.  in the information window.  Pressing ESC will exit SHEZ, pressing
  640.  F2 will allow you to create a compressed file, and pressing
  641.  F3 allows you to specify a new DISK:\DIRECTORY to look at.
